Livestream with Aspire & Swimnerd
How to use Aspire Sports / Swimnerd.live with OBS Studio to make professional looking livestreams.
Aspire Sports
Open Aspire Sports and connect to your timing system as you normally do (see instructions under the help dropdown on the Aspire Sports application if you need more information about how to connect the software to your timing system).
After ensuring a successful connection and an active scoreboard window with timer data, click the OBS Integration tab. This gives you two different options – the first option allows you to select form multiple different web pages that allow you to setup different scenes in OBS. The second option allows you to embed an application window in your livestream (you can use this option if you are unable to configure the browser option within OBS studio). You will want to leave the default values for the Web Page Overlay as this is required for the default pages to work. Click “Start Sending Data” to open the connection with the web pages you choose.

OBS Studio

We will do our best to help you get set up, but please understand that certain elements are out of our control (your facilities network bandwidth, camera options, computer performance, other hardware, etc.).
To effectively use Aspire Sports / Swimnerd.live with OBS Studio for creating professional-looking livestreams, it’s essential to first set up your equipment correctly. Begin by ensuring that your camera, microphone, and any other necessary peripherals are connected and configured properly within OBS. Once your devices are set up, you can integrate Aspire Sports or Swimnerd.live by adding a specific browser source or a media source, allowing you to display real-time data or streaming content directly on your livestream. Additionally, customizing your scenes with overlays and transitions will enhance the visual appeal of your broadcast, making it more engaging for your audience. Lastly, always perform a test stream before going live to ensure everything operates smoothly and looks perfect, ensuring that your audience enjoys a seamless experience.
To add a scene to OBS Studio with two sources, begin by opening OBS Studio and navigating to the “Scenes” box located at the bottom left corner of the interface. Click on the “+” button to create a new scene and give it a name that reflects its purpose. Once the scene is created, move to the “Sources” box, also at the bottom of the interface. Click the “+” button to add your first source: select “Video Capture Device” for your camera, name it appropriately, and follow the prompts to choose your connected camera as the source. After configuring the camera settings, click “OK” to add it to the scene. Next, add the second source by clicking the “+” button again and selecting “Browser.” Name the browser source, then input the URL of the webpage you wish to display. Adjust the width, height, and other properties to fit your requirements and click “OK.” You should now see both the camera feed and the browser content within your scene, allowing for a professional and dynamic livestream.
